High arch is usually an arch that is raised more than normal. The arch runs from the toes to the heel on the bottom of the foot. It is also called “pes cavus”.
High foot arches are caused by a bone or nerve condition.
High arched feet are painful because more stress is placed on the section of the foot between the ankle and toes. That’s why this condition can make it difficult for people to fit into shoes and as a result, they need foot support.
Arch inserts and support insoles may relieve the pain along with corrective shoes.
